Finding happiness
We often compare ourselves to others. Perhaps you’ve looked at someone and thought, “That person is so lucky - what a great career, with all that money, that look, that life”… I’ve done it too. And as my mind entertained this thought, I would find myself in an often depressing place overthinking about reasons why I wasn’t as successful as “that person.”
We live in an ocean of judgment—"you’re not famous enough, you’re not smart enough, you’re not thin enough." The weight of these appraisals, from others and from ourselves, can prevent us from looking at the world like a child might, as a place of wonder and new possibilities.
Happiness isn’t about getting what you want all the time. It’s about loving what you have and being grateful for it.
